A small day-active frog with strong colours that are used for scaring away its enemies

The frog's natural habitat is Central America and South America, where Indians in South America use the poison from the frog to make willow poison.

The frogs venom is thought to be due to its intake of ants, mites and beetles. Poison from the arthropods it eats is stored in glands in the skin. It is said that frogs in captivity that feeds of banana flies and chickens gradually lose their venom.

Most children are fascinated by animals, and very curious to hear more about them. Where are they found and what do they eat?
Playing with animals stimulates the imagination, is great for role play and the development of the child's social skills.
