The anteater lives in South and Central America and is a mammal. It is commonly known to eat ants and termites, and can eat up to 30,000 in one day. Its tongue is about 20 cm long and specially designed to catch ants and termites.

Anteaters live both in forests, on grasslands and in wetlands and have no fixed territories, but their search for suitable food takes them far and wide.
The anteater lives alone, only when mating and raising cubs do you see several anteaters together. An anteater can grow up to 20-25 years old.
